About me
My name is Abby Joyce. I study Celular & Molecular Biology at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus. My main career objective is to obtain a doctoral degree in Molecular Biology in a prestigious university. As a future young researcher I hope to obtain practical experiences that will increase my chances to compete in the job market. I love doing research because I believe it is a way of understanding the mysteries of nature.
In addition to the academic experiences, my community work has been broad. I believe it is necessary to help others that do not have the same resources as one may have. Also, I enjoy dancing, playing volleyball and being the best leader I can.
I believe Bio-Minds is a great opportunity for students interested in research, particularly puertorican students. Coming from a Hispanic background, I know that no matter were we are from we can overcome difficult obstacles and not to be afraid to take the next step in order to achieve our goals. I have learned not to be satisfied with what is necessary, but to excel.
